Effectiveness of Fathers' Club Growing up Together

Effectiveness of Fathers' Club Growing up Together

Short-term outcomes of the parenting support programme "Growing Up Together Fathers' Club" were examined in a study using pre-post intervention comparison of self-reported data from 238 fathers of young children who completed the programme in 25 sites throughout Croatia.

Results revealed an increase in parental self-efficacy, positive involvement with the child and attempted understanding of the child's perspective, and a decrease in harsh parenting and violence to the child after the programme. Participants' educational level did not moderate the results.

Qualitative data provide insight into perceived programme benefits for fathers and their children as well as suggestions for programme improvement.

This evaluation study of the short-term outcomes and implementation of Growing Up Together Father Clubs (initial, shorter version with 4 workshops with fathers) is presented in the following article: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/364140862_Supporting_Involved_Fathering_of_Young_Children_in_Croatia_Evaluation_of_the_Growing_Up_Together_Fathers'_Club
